Over the weekend, May 3rd through May 5th, Dragons competed at Waco Trap & Skeet in the SCTP Lower Midwest Regional Championships. The facility received over 10” of rain during the week and weekend, 2-3” at a time. It was chilly and rainy and then turned extremely humid and warm Sunday with LOTS of mud.

Post regular season events get longer and occur over 2, 3 and 4 days. This tournament’s events included optional events of 100 Doubles Trap and 100 Doubles Skeet on May 3rd and 100 Skeet, 100 Trap and 100 Sporting Clays on May 4th and 5th. Skeet, Trap and Sporting Clays scores counted towards the Total team score. Some members of the team enjoyed dinner together on Friday and Saturday nights and that’s when the team bonding really occurs each year and gets better and better.

First, congratulations to all of our first year shooters for powering through this championship! It was fantastic to have you competing with 300 rounds, which is tough physically and mentally.

Out of 31 teams, Dragons won 1st place beating the 2nd place team by 13 clays. The team brought home a lot of hardware with the results posted below.
